SD Natural Horse & Mule Training
My goal is to make you and your horse/mule a team, a partnership that never ends.
I use all natural training techniques based on trust and respect.
What I offer:
Colt starting
Tune-Ups
Trust Issues
The length of training is completely up to the horse/mule, I let the horse/mule set the pace and look at the age mentality of the horse. I have several references, not to mention all the horses here at the ranch to show my skills.
I charge $400 per horse for 30 days. Discounts applied to 2 or more horses. You supply your own feed!! That is why the price is so low compared to other trainers. If we supply the hay, then the price is $500 for 30 days, cash up front!!!
Most horses brought to us for training are ready in 30 days, some require longer, some less. It all depends how quickly they learn!!

Meet Billie, she is a 10 year old APHA mare here for trust issues
It didn't take me long to realize that her trust isn't on the right side, but the left, here she is letting me catch her from the right.
I can easily turn her with just a little pressure of the rope on the top of her neck, now I can get her halter on.
With the halter on, I start touching and rubbing on the right, so that I can work my way to her left.
Here I am rubbing and talking to her, the whole time not looking her in the eye, just focusing on where my hand will go next, she is starting to relax.
She has finally allowed me to crouch beside her and rub her leg, this is the only leg that she will not offer me freely, as you can see, I don't have a hold of the lead, and she can walk away at any time.
I have removed her halter, and now we will see if she will hook up with me. I do this to see if I have knocked down at least one wall on the second day.
Will she hook up? Or will she walk away?? She is watching my every move, even though I am watching her, I am not looking into her eye, I am waiting to see what she has in mind.
She has decided to move to the other side, ok, I'll move too!!
And we meet, we hook up, and the lesson is over for the day! She how her ears are forward? This was a success!!! Can't wait to see what day 3 brings!!
Billie has been with us for 6 days now, and this is her first saddling with us. As you can see, she is very relaxed
So, I proceed to cinch the saddle and attach the breast collar, again, she is still relaxed and listening, focusing on my movements.
Putting all my trust and confidence in her, I have taken the lead off and as you can see, it is hanging loosely at my side while she follows quietly.
I wanted to test her respect, so I picked up the grain feeder and walked away from her, she keeps her respectful space.
She is very respectful and keeps a nice distance, but yet close enough to know she is there. Perfect!
I send her out and away from me, to see if she offers to buck with the saddle, she did a few crow hops, then settled and moved out.
Billie is coming in for the hookup, her ears are forward.
Heading for the hitching post, our lesson is complete and she has come along way!! Very pleased with this mare and the way she thinks!!
After several weeks of rain, we finally catch a break, and she is for the first time with a rider on her back!! It was SUCCESS!!!
With a few more days of riding, she will be ready for her owner to come give her a spin!!
